Our story began in 1966, when we traded under the name L&M Canned Goods. As the food industry evolved, so did we. By the 1970s, we’d moved beyond canned goods and rebranded as L&M Food Group—a name that reflected a broader ambition. In time, this would become Lamex Food Group.
The 1980s saw our first steps onto the global stage, with offices opening in the United States and the Netherlands. Our product range grew to include poultry, pork, seafood, fruit, vegetables, chips, and snack foods. With a strong reputation and sound financial footing, we welcomed Norwich Union as a 19% shareholder in 1991—a partnership that spanned 15 years.
The next two decades brought steady expansion across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Offices were established in Sweden, Brazil, Thailand, Spain, Poland, Ireland, Switzerland, Russia, and China. In 2011, we launched Lamex Agrifoods to focus on our growing portfolio of fruit and plant-based products, such as juices, purees, and honey.
Today, Lamex Food Group is a global network of over 300 professionals, operating from 23 locations in 21 countries. We bring together over half a century of experience, strong financial backing, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in food sourcing and supply.
At the heart of everything we do is partnership. We work closely with both suppliers and customers to build long-term, sustainable relationships. Our in-house technical team carries out plant audits and quality assurance programmes to ensure that standards remain high and expectations are met.
Whether it’s developing new products, exploring new markets, or refining strategy, we move forward—together. It’s a philosophy that has served us well, and one we believe will continue to shape our shared success.
